Prayer of the Week and Instant Bible Study on Psalm 137

Prayer
Let us pray to the Lord, Lord have mercy.
O Lord, we are weeping over our sins like the Hebrews who wept by the rivers of Babylon. We remember how much we have departed from Your commandments by our slavery to our passions. We eat too much, we spend too much, we waste too much, we are not examples of Your love. We are greedy, lustful and faithless. We do what we hate. We need to be freed from this life of sin. As we begin this time of repentance, strengthen our resolve to make changes and enter the New Jerusalem which You have prepared for us before the foundation of the world. We pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Bible Verse
Ps: 137:1
By the rivers of Babylon,
There we sat down, yea, we wept
When we remembered Zion.
