Prayer of the Week and Bible Study on Luke 16:19-31

Prayer
Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy.
O Lord, it is Your will that all should be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. You sent Your Son so none will perish. You send us opportunities to help the poor, sick and needy. This is a manifestation of Your Love for us. It is we who by not responding send ourselves into the lake of fire. Open our spiritual eyes so we respond and find You in those who need our love. We pray in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Bible verse
Luke 16:24-25
Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’ But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented.'

Bible Question
Explain why Father Abraham could not grant the rich man's petition? Could Jesus grant it?
